The Philippine Embassy and the US-Philippines Society co-hosted a forum featuring Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez at the Embassy’s Romulo Hall on 11 September 2024 to discuss updates on recent strategic engagements between the Philippines and the United States.

In his remarks, Ambassador Romualdez shared updates from the Presidential Trade and Investment Mission, led by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, in March; the trilateral Summit with Japan and the U.S. and the 11th Bilateral Strategic Dialogue in April; and the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in Manila in July.

In all these meetings and engagements, let me just share that the United States consistently underscored its ironclad commitment to the Philippines, whether in the security or in the economic realm,” Ambassador Romualdez added.

The participants sought Ambassador Romualdez’s insights on key regional issues, particularly developments in the South China Sea. The Ambassador assured that the Philippines remains committed to peace, security, stability, and prosperity of the global community through advocating for a rules-based international order.

The US-Philippine Society is a non-profit, non-partisan, and independent organization, aimed at supporting Philippines-U.S. relations through its various programs and activities.###
