08 OCTOBER 2021, Washington D.C. – Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez met today with Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink, who had just assumed his post, to discuss stronger bilateral and regional cooperation.

During their in-person meeting at the Department of State, Ambassador Romualdez stressed the need to continue the positive trajectory of Philippines-United States relations in the years ahead. 

He also underscored the important role the United States could play in terms of post-pandemic economic recovery in the ASEAN region.

For his part, Assistant Secretary Kritenbrink said the United States intends to work with its friends, partners and allies in the Indo-Pacific, as well as beef up its security and economic cooperation with the Philippines and with ASEAN. ###
