The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC reminds all Filipinos in the United States and the Caribbean to check the expiration date of their passports and schedule their renewal at the earliest opportunity.
Passports may be renewed at any time, and Filipinos whose passports expire in 2028 are encouraged to apply for renewal now.
The Embassy anticipates a significant increase in passport renewal applications in 2028, when the first batch of 10-year validity passports will begin to expire.
Filipinos under the Embassy’s jurisdiction are encouraged to stay ahead of this expected demand for passport appointment slots for their own peace of mind and in preparation for their travels by checking their passport validity and renewing early. It takes 6 to 8 weeks for the release of passports.
Passport applicants are required to secure an appointment and appear in person. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/myPHpassport
