WASHINGTON D.C. – The Filipiniana gown of First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, and accessories of Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, which they wore during the inauguration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos – on 30 June 2022, were featured at the First Fashion Gala held in Washington, D.C. on 12 October 2022. 

“I am proud that Filipiniana design and textile and talent were featured at the First Fashion Gala. When Madame Indira Gumarova, spouse of the former Czech Ambassador to the United States Hynek Kmoníček, invited us to exhibit Filipino fashion, particularly items worn by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, I immediately agreed and called up the First Lady’s Office.” said PH Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez.

Among the items featured were (1) First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos’ dress made by Lesley Mobo, and her clutch bag; and (2) Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos’ shoes made by Lila Almario, and her pearl accessories.

The Filipino items were showcased along with 40 other attires and fashion sets by “designers who have dressed First Ladies, First Gentlemen, Kings, and Queens from around the world.”
