Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro Locsin, Jr. met with US National Security Advisor Ambassador John Bolton on 4 January 2019 in Washington, D.C. to deepen PH-US ties and the role of the alliance in maintaining regional peace and stability in the Indo Pacific. This is the first time that Secretary Locsin met with Ambassador Bolton since he became the Philippines’ top diplomat. Secretary Locsin said the meeting was “vastly enlightening, frank, wide-ranging yet sharply focused on the key issues.” Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez accompanied the Secretary in the meeting.
