WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) of the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC. through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) held the 2024 OFW Family Day Celebration at the Salvation Army TCI, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) on December 2, 2024.

Around 354 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families participated in the family day event that showcased the exceptional talents of OFWs competing in the Galing Mo, OFW!, a talent contest on impersonating popular Filipino and international artists. The event also featured delightful song and dance numbers from members of the Filipino community in the island.

The OFW Family Day is celebrated every year in the Philippines and all over the world in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices of OFW families. It is the second time that the celebration was held in the Caribbean region, with the first in The Bahamas in December 2023.

Sixty-four (64) OFWs who attended the event brought home cash and in-kind raffle prizes courtesy of OWWA.

The celebration was organized in partnership with the Filipino Community of TCI led by Alfonso Palatino and the Association of Concern Filipinos in TCI headed by Erwin Panga. END
