WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. annually celebrates National Women’s Month in accordance to Proclamation No. 227, which provides for the observance of the Month of March as the “Women’s Role in History Month”.
The Sentro Rizal Washington D.C. in partnership with EdukSine invites everyone to a special virtual screening of the Filipino indie film “Ang Kababaihan ng Malolos” directed by award-winning directors Sari Dalena and Kiri Dalena. The film dramatizes the events from 1888 to 1906 when the Women of Malolos worked for the liberation of the country and of Filipino women. The film will have english subtitles available.
The screening will be held from 20 until 26 March 2022 through EdukSine’s online video streaming platform (https://app.eduksine.com/). Interested viewers in the United States and the Caribbean are invited to register through https://forms.gle/gcP9eGLG5ypUuLtk9. Tickets are limited and will provided on a first come first serve basis.
As a culmination of the 6-year theme “We Make Change Work for Women”, this year’s sub theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran” aims to celebrate the great strides achieved by women and to continue making their voices heard, exercising their right to choose, and raising priority issues that would improve our society. ###
