WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. conducted a consular outreach mission in Pensacola from 18 to 21 October 2024, its fourth in Florida this year.
The Embassy’s team, led by Consul General Donna Rodriguez, provided essential consular services, including the processing of 151 passport applications and 20 notarial and other services. Consul General Rodriguez also administered the Oath of Allegiance to 97 successful dual citizenship applicants.
While in Pensacola, the Embassy team celebrated with the Filipino-American Association of Pensacola the organization’s 50th anniversary on October 19. She highlighted the significant contributions of the Fil-Am Association in Pensacola, noting that for many Filipinos, the Association not only provides cultural connections but serves as a “lifeline and support in times of need.” Consul General Rodriguez noted further that this becomes more apparent during calamities, where local communities have mobilized resources to help those in need. “This was Bayanihan in action, and reminded us again that together, Filipinos are stronger,” she added.
Consul General Rodriguez also conveyed Ambassador Romualdez’s message of congratulations to the Fil-Am Association, which says in part: “After 50 golden years of promoting Filipino culture, organizing charitable and civic activities, and strengthening the bonds between Filipino and American communities, your organization continues to lead in fostering and preserving a strong Filipino identity in Pensacola.”
This outreach in Pensacola is the Embassy’s ninth consular outreach mission of the year.
