WASHINGTON, D.C. – In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy hosted a breakfast meeting on 5 March 2025 for women ambassadors in Washington, D.C. featuring former Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Delia Domingo Albert.

The event, which centered on Women, Peace, and Security, brought together Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the U.S. government and international non-governmental organizations. 

Ambassador Albert is the first woman career diplomat in Asia to serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs. She represented the Philippines in Switzerland, Romania, Hungary, Germany and Australia. As Chair of the United Nations Security Council in 2004, she championed the role of women as peacemakers and introduced the agenda “The Role of Civil Society in Post-Conflict Peacebuilding.” ###
