WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. hosted the oath taking ceremony of the officers of the Filipino American Cancer Care (FACC) on 26 April 2024 at the Philippine Embassy’s Romulo Hall.
“As we celebrate this momentous occasion and look towards the future, let us recommit ourselves to the mission of FACC and to serving those affected by cancer with compassion, empathy, and solidarity. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and work towards a world where cancer no longer poses a threat to our loved ones.” said by Consul General Iric Cruz Arribas as he congratulated the newly inducted officers of FACC.
The oath-taking ceremony was succeeded by Mr. Dave Alegre, CEO of Grace Media and spouse of the late Dr. Grace Alegre, who delivered inspirational remarks. Additionally, FACC members Gloria Stone and Jeanette Cocker showcased their talents with a special musical performance.
The new set of officers are expected to fulfill their duties and responsibilities for the term 2024-2026.
The Filipino American Cancer Care, Inc. (FACC) is a 501(c)3 established in March, 2020, with its headquarters based in Alexandria, Virginia. Its primary mission is to C.A.R.E. about Filipinos, Filipino-Americans and anyone that is medically underserved in the Philippines, United States and other parts of the world by assisting those impacted by cancer. FACC’s vision rests on four (4) major pillars of C.A.R.E., which stands for: Collective outreach programs designed to fit our unique culture for our community; Advocate for better comprehensive cancer care during and post treatment; Research tool/resource for cancer patients, survivors, family members, and caregivers regarding financial assistance; and Educate our community regarding cancer prevention, early detection, screening and treatment options.
