PH EMBASSY SPEARHEADS MARITIME AND ARCHIPELAGIC NATION MONTH (MANAMO) CELEBRATIONS IN DC
The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. formally opened MANAMO Month 2026 with a flag-raising ceremony, marking the start of a month-long celebration raising consciousness on the Philippines' maritime and archipelagic concerns, heritage, and the protection of marine resources. September is annually observed as Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo).
Messages from President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro were read during the flag raising ceremony. This year’s celebration is guided by the theme “Karapatan sa Karagatan, Sama-sama Nating Alagaan” (Our Rights to the Sea, Together Let Us Protect and Nurture It).
