PH ENVOY INVITED AS GUEST SPEAKER AT BROOKINGS CENTER FOR ASIA POLICY STUDIES

Brookings Institution, a leading think tank and policy center in Washington DC, hosted Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez as the resource speaker in an event that featured the political, security, and economic developments in the Philippines in a rapidly evolving domestic, regional, and global landscape. Citing the strong security alliance that underpins the 80th Anniversary of PH-US Diplomatic Relations this year, Ambassador Romualdez said that both countries are committed to upholding a rules-based international order and a free and open Indo Pacific. He also mentioned that as Chair of ASEAN, the Philippines prioritizes the conclusion of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea in cooperation with like minded partners, including the United States, in support of regional peace and stability.
