PHILIPPINE EMBASSY CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL CONSULAR OUTREACH IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C.  successfully conducted its consular outreach mission in Delray Beach, Florida, held from February 21 to 24, 2024. This marks the Embassy’s first outreach mission of the year, aiming to provide essential consular services to the Filipino community in the region. 

Over four days, a dedicated team led by Consul General Iric Cruz Arribas processed 303 passport applications, facilitated 15 notarial services, issued 115 dual citizenship certificates, and registered more than 200 new overseas voters. Additionally, 158 members of the Philippine Social Security System were able to reactivate their memberships and update their contributions, ensuring continued access to vital benefits. 

The success of this outreach mission would not have been possible without the generous support of the Emmanuel Catholic Church, under the guidance of Fr. Ding Zamora, for providing the venue and the invaluable assistance of volunteers from The Philippine American Society Inc of West Palm Beach, Florida, led by its president, Mr. Celso Paguntalan and board members Marylou Macatangay, Conchita Mateo and Marlyn Sepanik, to mention a few. Their commitment to serving the community was crucial to the mission’s success.

Southern Florida, renowned for its warm climate, stunning beaches, and diverse population, is home to a thriving Filipino community. Comprising primarily of professionals such as nurses, doctors, teachers, and many others, Filipinos in this area contribute significantly to the region’s cultural and economic landscape. 

The Philippine Embassy extends its sincere gratitude to all those who participated in and supported this consular outreach mission, reaffirming its commitment to serving the needs of Filipinos abroad.
