WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC proudly announces the implementation of an innovative e-payment system starting May 3, 2024, revolutionizing the way transactions are conducted at the Consular Section and in consular outreach missions within its jurisdiction in the United States.

Gone are the days of cash-only transactions as the Embassy embraces the digital age, offering the public a seamless and convenient payment experience. Individuals seeking consular services can now pay using a variety of digital payment methods, including credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

This monumental upgrade in payment processing comes as a result of a partnership with Cliqbux LLC, an IT company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Founded by tech visionary Filipino- American Mr. Levi Bondoc, Cliqbux specializes in developing cutting-edge solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses and institutions.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new e-payment system, which aligns with our commitment to enhance the overall experience for our constituents,” remarked His Excellency Jose Manuel G. Romualdez, Ambassador of the Philippines to the United States. “By modernizing our payment infrastructure, we aim to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and provide greater convenience to the public.”

While electronic payments offer unparalleled convenience, the Embassy recognizes the importance of offering multiple payment options to accommodate all individuals. As such, cash and money orders will continue to be accepted for those who prefer traditional payment methods.

All electronic payments will be charged a 4% convenience fee to cover processing costs.

The Cliqbux system is also used at the Philippine Consulates General in San Francisco and Los Angeles, further extending the reach of modernized payment solutions to Filipino communities across the United States. To learn more about Cliqbux, visit their website cliqbux.com. ###
