Washington, D.C. – The Philippine Embassy in Washington hosted a roundtable with the ASEAN Committee in Washington DC (ACW) and US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), highlighting shared business interests in the defense and security sectors in the region.

The Philippine Embassy, led by Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez, currently serves as the Chair of the ACW, a grouping of the embassies of the ten ASEAN members in Washington D.C. Also present was the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to the United States.

In addressing the members of the USABC’s Aerospace, Defense & Security Committee present during the roundtable, Ambassador Romualdez emphasized that ASEAN continues to dialogue and cooperate closely on issues of common concern. He also underscored the breadth of opportunities available for investments and other economic engagements in the ASEAN region.

A cocktail reception followed the roundtable, providing an opportunity for further networking among attendees representing various industries in the business sector, including the food industry, IT, semiconductor, logistics, and finance.
