In celebration of this year’s District of Columbia Public School International Food Day, the rich flavors of the Philippines took center stage as Filipino Chicken Adobo was proudly featured and savored by students.
The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC collaborated with the DCPS Global Education team and DCPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services to celebrate the tastes and flavors of Filipino cuisine.
On each International Food Day, DCPS serves traditional dishes of the featured country in the cafeteria. Cultural events and educational activities will be made available to schools who would like to provide additional activities for students. By holding international food day events each year, featuring menus created by local embassy partners, across all DCPS schools, the DCPS International Food Days introduce students to new countries and cultures through cuisine.
