WASHINGTON, D.C. – Filipino content creators began their “Road to 250” journey in the United States with a call on Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez, who credited Filipino Americans as one of the biggest assets in strengthening Philippines-U.S. relations.
“It’s the people-to-people ties that make our relationship strong. Filipino Americans are very much appreciated here, and they should never lose their spirit of caring,” the Ambassador said.
He enjoined participating influencers – TikTok creator and educator Raymor Cuevas, travel and culture blogger Shayne Funcion, journalist and independent communicator Jacque Manabat, and long-form history content creator Jonas Tayaban – to emphasize through their content the invaluable contributions of Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout American history.
“Road to 250” is a joint initiative of Spirit of America and Global Ties U.S. to highlight Filipino American stories through content creation, in anticipation of the 250th founding anniversary of the U.S. and 80th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-U.S. diplomatic relations, both in 2026. The tour will take the influencers to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New Orleans, and San Francisco, where they will visit key historical sites and engage with notable Filipino Americans.
