KUMUSTAHAN SA EMBAHADA WALKING THROUGH HISTORY FEATURING: ERWIN TIONGSON

In celebration of the Asian American Heritage month in May, Sentro Rizal of the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. and the US-Philippines Society proudly presents Kumustahan sa Embahada Walking Through History featuring: Erwin Tiongson.

Mr. Erwin Tiongson is a Professor of the Practice and Deputy Director of the Global Human Development Program in Georgetown University and a community historian. He is also a co-founder of the Philippine on the Potomac, a Family project wherein Prof. Tiongson and his family developed a Philippine-American street map of DC.

In his book Philippine-American Heritage in Washington, he narrates the intertwined histories of the Philippine and the United States along the streets of Washington, from the end of the Spanish American War in 1898 through Philippine independence in 1946, and the many years since. Hidden in plain sight are the stories of the fascinating figures that once inhabited these spaces.
