PAGLILIBOT & MERIENDA – FABRICATED BOUNDARIES: FILIPINA AMERICAN TEXTILE & FIBER ARTISTS

Join us as Filipina-American artists Mic Diño Boekelmann, Jeanne Jalandoni, and Patricia Orpilla discuss their powerful works featured in Kantzen Museum’s Fabricated Boundaries exhibit, which explores identity, memory, and migration. Through painting, sculpture, printmaking, and textile arts—from abaca and piña fibers to embroidery and weaving—they craft stories of heritage, resilience, and life between cultures. At the heart of the exhibition is habi—weaving—not just of threads, but of histories, experiences, and voices that honor the past while shaping the present.

Filipino merienda or refreshments will also be provided as part of our Filipino American History Month celebration.
