WASHINGTON D.C.Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel G. Romualdez heralded the robust Philippines-US relations amidst regional challenges during a talk entitled “Steering Towards Peace: Philippines in the Indo-Pacific”, held at the Mortara Center for International Studies in Georgetown University on 18 November 2024.

During the event, the Ambassador shared his candid views on recent milestones in the Philippines-US partnership, particularly in defense and security, and prospects under the incoming US administration. 

He also contemplated on the role of the US and wider international community in managing regional flashpoints, particularly in the South China Sea. 

“Steering Towards Peace: Philippines in the Indo-Pacific” was a collaborative effort of the Philippine Embassy and Georgetown University Club Filipino. Prof. Erwin Tiongson, Deputy Director of the Global Human Development Program at the University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, served as moderator for the event.###
