The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC conducted a consular outreach mission in Jacksonville from 17 to 20 September 2024, its third in Florida this year.
The Embassy’s team, led by Consul General Donna Rodriguez, provided essential consular services, including the processing of 354 passport applications, registration of 406 overseas absentee voters, and 11 notarial and other services. Consul General Rodriguez also administered the Oath of Allegiance to 210 successful dual citizenship applicants.
“We are happy to be back in Florida to provide much needed consular services to our Filipino community in Jacksonville,” said Consul General Rodriguez. She thanked Honorary Consul Sharol Noblejas, as well as the many volunteers from various Filipino organizations in Jacksonville, for ably assisting the Embassy team throughout the outreach mission and for serving as the bridge between the Embassy and the greater Filipino community.
While in Jacksonville, Consul General Rodriguez and Honorary Consul Noblejas called on Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, where they noted the Filipino community’s significant contributions in further enriching the cultural diversity and economic development of the city. They discussed possible ways to increase the engagement between the Mayor’s office and the Filipino community, as well as the Philippine Consulate in Florida.
This outreach in Jacksonville is the Embassy’s eighth consular outreach mission of the year.
