WASHINGTON D.C. – Trade and economic officials from the Philippines met with United States Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer on 2 May 2025 in Washington D.C. to discuss mutually-beneficial ways to strengthen the bilateral
relations.
The Philippine delegation was led by Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick D. Go, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, and Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez.
Both sides expressed optimism on the future of PH-US trade and investment relations especially in the context of economic security and fair, balanced, and reciprocal trade.
Both sides welcomed the positive outcome of the discussions and underscored the importance of an economically and strategically strong partnership between the Philippines and the United States. Both countries agreed to undertake concrete steps in recognition of the complementary nature of our economies and the strategic value of our alliance.##
