WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC successfully brought consular services back to North Carolina after seven years, holding a consular outreach mission in Charlotte from 6 to 7 September 2025.
During the two-day consular outreach, the Embassy team served over 350 Filipinos and Filipino Americans, processing 271 passport applications, 86 dual citizenship petitions, 19 notarial documents, and 3 civil registry reports. Of the 271 passports processed, 125 were for minors, highlighting the impact of bringing essential services to Filipino families.
This consular outreach mission marked the Embassy’s return to North Carolina since its last outreach in Raleigh in 2018. North Carolina is home to an estimated 48,000 Filipinos and Filipino Americans, many of whom travel to Washington DC to access consular services.
“We are very pleased to return to North Carolina after seven years to bring government services closer to our kababayan,” said Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez. “The strong participation is indicative of how much our services are needed by the community, especially Filipino children.”
The Embassy extends its appreciation to the Philippine Nurses Association NC Triad Subchapter, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations Southern Region, and the Filipino American Community of the Carolinas for their effective partnership and collaboration.
