PHILIPPINE SPACE AGENCY MEETS FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN WASHINGTON DC

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Philippine Embassy welcomed the delegation from the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), headed by Director General Dr. Joel Joseph Marciano Jr., and hosted a special meet and greet event with the Filipino community on 02 May 2024. The event aimed to introduce the community to the programs of the agency and highlight their alignment with the needs of Filipinos. 

The establishment of the Philippine Space Agency signified a significant milestone for the nation, demonstrating its commitment to space technology. As many members of the Filipino community in the DMV area were hearing about the agency for the first time, the event provided an opportunity for them to learn about its initiatives and achievements firsthand from the agency’s top officials. Consul General Iric Arribas gave the welcome remarks, stating, “Let’s take this moment to be proud of our nation’s achievements and to learn about the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. Let’s be inquisitive and find out how the Philippine Space Agency is aligned with our collective efforts for nation-building.”

The event proved to be an occasion of pride and excitement for the Filipino community, as they came together to celebrate the nation’s strides in space technology. It served as a platform for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and partnership between the Philippine Space Agency and the vibrant Filipino community in the DMV area.
