The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. is pleased to inform the Filipino community in the United States of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024. The Act broadened the scope of recognition and financial incentives for Filipino senior citizens both in the Philippines and abroad.

Signed into law in 2024, the Expanded Centenarians Act amends the original Centenarians Act of 2016 by providing a PHP 10,000 cash incentive to Filipinos who reach the milestone ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old. Those who reach 100 years old will continue to receive the PHP 100,000 incentive and a Letter of Felicitation from the President of the Philippines.

This milestone legislation ensures that Filipino senior citizens overseas are not left behind in the government’s efforts to honor longevity and lifelong contributions to national development. Eligible applicants must be Filipino citizens or dual citizens and possess a Philippine peso-denominated bank account.

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), together with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), will implement the law under a newly signed Joint Memorandum Circular.

Overseas Filipino senior citizens and their families may submit application documents through the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., any Philippine Consulate General in the United States, or directly to the CFO Main Office in Manila.

The Embassy encourages all eligible members of the Filipino-American community to help spread the word to potential beneficiaries.
