WASHINGTON, D.C. – A delegation from the 38th Guam Legislature, led by Senator and Majority Whip Shelly V. Calvo, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez to reaffirm Philippines-Guam ties and consider areas for further cooperation.

Noting the proximity of the Philippines and Guam and building on the Filipino heritage of many Guamanians, Senator Calvo urged closer collaboration in such fields as healthcare and education, where Filipinos are held in high regard in Guam.

To further foster people-to-people exchanges, Ambassador Romualdez and the delegation agreed to continue exploring the possible inclusion of Filipino nationals in the Guam visa waiver program.

Also joining the call were Senator and Vice Speaker Vicente Anthony Ada and Senator Vincent Anthony V. Borja of the 38th Guam Legislature. ###
