WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democratic state representative and Filipino-American activist Justin Jones represents the 52nd District of Tennessee which covers parts of Nashville since 2022. As an advocate of strong gun control measures, civil rights, and immigration issues, Jones has been actively engaging with Asian and Filipino American communities in the district in the formation of a broader coalition.
Rep. Jones and Embassy officials exchanged ideas on programs to encourage civic action and political involvement of Filipino Americans and explore cooperation between them and other Asian American communities on health, workforce development, the local economy, and civic action.
The Embassy also invited Rep. Jones to share in his district the commemorative activities of 80 years of Philippines-US diplomatic relations in conjunction with celebrations of 250 years of the United States. ###
