UPDATES ON THE CONDUCT OF THE 2022 NATIONAL ELECTIONS – OVERSEAS ABSENTEE VOTING

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Accredited poll watchers, media, and observers are invited to observe the following election proceedings at the Embassy: 

      1. Opening of the sealed Vote Counting Machines on Sunday, 10 April 2022, 9:00AM; 
      2. Ballot feeding every Monday and Thursday at 9:00AM during the voting period, beginning on 10 April – 09 May 2022; and 
      3. Final count and closing of elections on 09 May 2022

The venue for all proceedings will be at the Quezon Hall of the Philippine Embassy Chancery Annex, 1617 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington D.C. 20036.

As of today, the shipment containing the election packets is still in transit to Washington D.C. Once the shipment has arrived, the Embassy shall process the election packets for mailing, including the verification of the registered voters’ addresses printed on the packets. The Embassy reassures the public of its utmost efforts and commitment to a secure and smooth overseas voting process.

The method of voting for overseas voters in the United States and Caribbean territories is purely postal. Registered voters, as listed under the COMELEC Certified List of Overseas Voters (CLOV), will have their ballots automatically mailed to their registered addresses. There is no need to request the Embassy to mail your ballots. 

Accomplished ballots may also be dropped off at the mailboxes located at the Embassy. Voters returning their accomplished ballots via mail are reminded that only ballots received by the Embassy before Monday, 09 May 2022, 7:00AM ET will be counted. Ballots received after this time will be considered INVALID and not be counted. 

Overseas voters shall only vote for President, Vice-President, Senators, and Party List Representatives in the 2022 National Elections. ###
