WASHINGTON D.C. – Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez welcomed renowned Filipino music icons Melanie “Kyla” Hernandez Calumpad, Kristine Zhenie “KZ” Lobrigas Tandingan-Monterde, Josephine “Yeng” Eusebio Constantino-Asuncion, and Jason James Desiata Dy at the Philippine Embassy a day before their Vocal Champs concert at the Cramton Auditorium on July 28. 

 

During the courtesy call, embassy officials applauded their efforts in promoting Filipino music at the international stage and encouraged the artists to use their songs and influence to guide and further inspire the Filipino-American youth in learning more about their Filipino heritage. 

 

Following the courtesy call, Consul General Iric Cruz Arribas gave the Filipino singers a tour of the Embassy’s Chancery Annex and Sentro Rizal.

 

Ambassador Romualdez was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Jaime Ramon Ascalon, Jr. while the celebrities were assisted by the TeamGuidotts and Manalo First Generation Production teams during the courtesy call.

 

The Embassy also conveyed its appreciation to TeamGuidotts and Manalo First Generation for generously providing free Vocal Champs tickets to select Filipino-American youth essay writing winners during the DMV Filipino community’s organized celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day. ###
