WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of its commitment to supporting the Filipino community, the Philippine Embassy successfully concluded a weeklong free legal aid clinic on U.S. immigration laws, offering vital assistance to Filipinos and Filipino-Americans facing a range of legal immigration challenges in the United States.
From 04 to 08 August 2025, Atty. Miles Sanchez, a U.S. immigration attorney, provided free, safe, and confidential one-on-one legal advice on a wide range of immigration issues such as family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, investor visas, and deportation defense.
Over 30 individuals from all over the United States consulted in person and on videoconference and received personalized legal guidance without the financial burden, helping them better understand their options and next steps in a safe environment.
“Immigration is incredibly complex and often costly. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, as every person’s situation is unique,” said Chargé d’Affaires Jaime Ramon Ascalon Jr. “That’s why this free one-on-one legal clinic was so important for our kababayan. We sincerely thank Atty. Sanchez for making this partnership possible.”
The Embassy will host its next free legal aid clinic, focusing on Philippine law, on 12 September 2025.
